The Shanghai-Hong Kong High-Quality Development Pudong Cooperation Exchange Conference Was Successfully Held in Shanghai. The Chairman of Our Group Was Invited to Join the Pudong-Hong Kong “Silk Road E-commerce” Service Alliance and Certificated
On 15 October 2024, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal United Front Work Department and the Pudong New Area Committee and Government, Mr. Roger Kam, Chairman of our Group, was invited to attend the ‘Innovation Leading to a Win-Win Future’ Shanghai-Hong Kong High-Quality Development Pudong Cooperation Exchange Conference, jointly hosted by the Hong Kong Branch of the Pudong District Overseas Friendship Association and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Shanghai-Hong Kong Cooperation Conference mechanism and the 34th anniversary of the Pudong New Area’s opening. The conference aimed to deepen cooperation and exchanges between Pudong and Hong Kong, jointly promoting the development of new productive forces and technological innovation.
Attendees included Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Mr. Leung Chun-ying, Shanghai Municipal Standing Committee Member and United Front Work Minister Mr. Chen Tong, Shanghai Municipal Standing Committee Member and Pudong New Area Committee Secretary Mr. Zhu Zhisong, Deputy Secretary of the Pudong New Area Committee and District Mayor Mr. Wu Jincheng, Executive Deputy Minister of the Shanghai Municipal United Front Work Department and Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Ms. Dong Yiwen, Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Mainland China Mr. Jacky Chung, and Director of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Shanghai Office Ms. Laura Liang Aron.
During the conference, the Pudong-Hong Kong ‘Silk Road E-commerce’ Service Alliance was established, with our Group becoming one of the first members. This alliance aims to provide comprehensive consulting, industry analysis, and guidance for enterprises from both Shanghai and Hong Kong to ‘Go Global.’ Our Chairman, Mr. Roger Kam, took the stage to receive the alliance certificate from the Deputy Minister of the Shanghai Municipal United Front Work Department and the Director of the Hong Kong Shanghai Office.
The conference facilitated the successful signing of several cooperation projects between Shanghai and Hong Kong. To better support innovation and entrepreneurship among youth from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese communities, the Pudong New Area Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Youth Service Center, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, and Pudong Research Institute for Technology Achievement Transformation (Pudong Branch) were successfully established during the conference.
This conference promoted practical cooperation between Shanghai and Hong Kong in multiple areas, including technology, industry, talent, and legal services. It effectively facilitated the integration of industrial chains, innovation chains, and value chains between the two regions, which is of significant importance for the coordinated development of new productive forces and the promotion of high-quality development in both Shanghai and Hong Kong.
