Roger Kam Speaks on Global Supply Chain Challenges at Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium

The 27th Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium was held in Beijing, China on 20 September 2024, during which a Roundtable Forum on the Promotion of Trade and Logistics Cooperation was held, hosted by Ms. Ma Feijun, Head of Government Affairs for Deloitte China’s North China region. The forum invited distinguished guests to draw from their own practices, focusing on the transformations and challenges facing global supply chains. Participants shared their explorations and initiatives in building and enhancing supply chain systems.

Mr. Roger Kam, as committee member of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, addressed pressing issues facing the global supply chain during the roundtable discussion. He shared insights on how member companies of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce are adapting to supply chain disruptions. He also urged businesses to invest in technology and innovation to improve operational efficiency.

The roundtable included other notable speakers, such as Mr. Kelvin Leung, President of the Hong Kong Logistics Association, Mr. Gu Youheng, Deputy General Manager of Sinochem Business, and Mr. Qian Xiaojun, General Manager of Beijing United Information Technology Co., Ltd. Together, they discussed strategies for enhancing collaboration between the two regions and building a robust supply chain network.

The event concluded with a call to action for stakeholders to work together in addressing the evolving challenges in the supply chain sector, ensuring that both local and international businesses can thrive in the future.
